Wine News from Alex at the Wooden Angel

1. Last night I took a
DOM SERINE MARK BRADFORD VYD PINOT NOIR 2004
to my South Hills wine club for a blind tasting of 12 BURGANDYS
(we ended up with 6 Fr. and 6 USA)
(we have been meeting once a month for 25 years and most of the guys are 'Frankofiles'
and are brutal)

The SERINE blew everybody away... they thought it was a frog wyne and it came in #1
If you see Serine ads in "speculator" they advetize a judging where their Bradford came in #1 in a tasting with the frogs - well - we proved it last night.
IT IS ON OUR WINE LIST expensive but worth it!
Domaine Seren 'Mark Bradford Vyd' 2004 Willamette 150 L49
"Supple & generous, with ripe currant & blackberry flavors that persist into long, nicely focused smooth-textured finish. The tammins are nicely submerged" Wine Spectator 93 points

2. Just for fun, last night I also took a bottle of
SEBASTIANI PINOT NOIR 1967
to the tasting... it was drinkable... We found a few bottles of Sebastiani wines in the cellar from the late 60's...

3. Gary Eberle will be here October 13th for a tasting of his wines and chef Mike's food... you are all welcome

4. We have added a couple of BRIAR VALLEY wines to our list... May I suggest you stop and taste their wines the next time you are driving East on the Pike... Located at the Bedford exit... I couldn't believe they were from PA. Let me know what you think!

5. Our wine appreciation series on Tuesday nights in September and October are sold out... we will be doing them again in the winter.

We thank you for your support,
Alex
